About Me

Saving time in the kitchen

Everyone who comes to our restaurant wants to get freshly cooked food, which means we need to get it out to them quickly. That means we need to have great systems in place to help us produce our dishes as quickly as possible. We have some great suppliers who support us with prepared vegetables and other partially cooked ingredients so that we can get our great tasting meals out to our customers as soon as possible. I thought it would be fun to start a blog with all of our food service hacks, as I know commercial kitchens all have and need them.

Supplies You Need to Set Up a Catering Business

If you are making plans to start a catering company, there are some supplies you will need in order to get started. This article looks at some of the essential items you will need to get your business off the ground. So, what are you waiting for? Read on to discover what you need to know.

Kitchenware

When starting a catering business, it is essential to have the right pots, pans, knives, cutting boards and kitchen utensils on hand. This will ensure that you can prepare food efficiently and effectively. Pots and pans come in a variety of sizes and materials, so it is important to choose the type of kitchenware that best suit your needs. Knives and cutting boards are also available in a variety of materials, and it is important to choose ones that are easy to clean and that will not dull quickly. Kitchen utensils such as spatulas, tongs and skimmers are also essential for any catering business. Once you have the essential pots, pans, knives, cutting boards and kitchen utensils, you will be best placed to become a success in the catering business.

Dinnerware

When starting a catering business, one of the first things you will need to do is order plates, bowls, cups, napkins and silverware. There are some things you really need to consider when making this decision. The first is the type of event you will be catering to. If you are catering a formal event, you will need to choose more elegant dinnerware. If you are catering a more casual event, you can choose dinnerware that is less expensive and easier to replace if any of it gets damaged. The second thing to keep in mind is the number of guests you will be catering for. You will need to make sure you have enough dinnerware for everyone and extras in case some of the dinnerware gets damaged during the event. The final thing to think about is the budget you have for this purchase. Dinnerware can be quite expensive, so it is essential to set a budget before you start shopping. Taking these points into account can help you to find the perfect plates, bowls, cups, napkins and silverware for your catering business.
